HDP delegation met newly elected Council of Europe Secretary

The HDP delegation who met with Marija Pejcinovic Buric was composed of PACE Left Union Group Vice President and HDP Foreign Affairs deputy co-chair Hişyar Özsoy, PACE equality commission vice president Feleknas Uca, HDP Council of Europe Representative Faik Yağızay.
During the meeting the HDP delegation talked about the situation of the dismissed co-mayors in Kurdistan, who were replaced by trustees. Likewise the delegation reminded the Secretary General of the situation of the two HDP former co-chairs who are still in prison.
During the meeting it was also discussed the need for the solution of the Kurdish problem and the key role that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan could play.
The HDP delegation also talked about the repression going on in Turkey and the situation of the tens of thousands of political prisoners in Turkey and reminded the Council of Europe of its responsibility.
The HDP delegation met with the secretary-general and general director of the European Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, one of the most influential bodies of the Council of Europe's expert body on local governments.
