Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Adana MP Meral Danış Beştaş had been detained for the same charges on the evening of January 27, to be later released on probation. The Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office appealed the verdict and she was detained once more last night in Amed. Beştaş was taken to the Criminal Court of Peace on duty in the Diyarbakır Courthouse where she was arrested on said charges. 

The reason for Beştaş’s arrest has been cited as 3 twitter posts sent from an account set up in the name of HDP Headquarters during the actions of October 6-8 for Kobanê.
