Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP for Urfa, Dilek Öcalan has been taken into custody at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport at 17:00 Tuesday afternoon. Öcalan was about to leave for Milan, Italy.

Öcalan had previously faced a detention warrant on the grounds of not attending the hearing at Urfa 5th Heavy Penal Court in the scope of the case opened against her due to a speech she had made during a funeral in Urfa's Viranşehir district before.

Dilek Öcalan is expected to be taken to Urfa.
