HDP MP Murat Sarısaç protested the AKP banning Kurdish concerts in Van and said: “They are attacking the Kurds’ values, they fear the people coming together.”
The Van governorate issued a ban against Kurdish music after the bans against demonstrations and events. The AKP stopped the prayers during the memorial held for Yunus Emre Şen, who lost his life in the Suruç Massacre. Kurdish musician Mem Ararat’s concert was also banned.
“THEY FEAR THE PEOPLE COMING TOGETHER”
HDP Van MP Murat Sarısaç said the AKP government and the governors are implementing a special concept:
“They are attacking Kurds’ values. They want to destroy all the gains achieved by the HDP through policies of pillaging and bans. To that end, they are banning all events where the people can come together. For a thousand days these bans have repeated themselves. They don’t even want us holding memorials at a grave. They have gone as far to say that we can’t pray without a permit. In Batman, the jump into the water event was banned by the Hasankeyf district governorate.”
“THEY RISE UP ON HOSTILITY AGAINST KURDS”
Sarısaç stressed that the AKP represents an anti-Kurdish mindset: “They think they will rise up however much they oppress the Kurds. When Governor Zorluoglu ran for mayor in Trabzon after banning Kurdish, the current governor thought if he acts the same way he will be nominated as well.”
