On January 27, HDP's Adana MP Meral Danış Beştaş and on January 29 HDP Spokesperson and Kars MP Ayhan Bilgen had been detained and then released with judicial control. However, upon the objection of the prosecutor, the court issued arrest warrants for both MPs on January 30, right after the release of Baluken, deputy co-chair of HDP’s parliamentary group.

Beştaş and Bilgen were formally arrested and sent to Diyarbakır E Type Closed Prison on January 31. One day after their arrest, they were taken to Diyarbakır Airport in handcuffs but they were taken back to the jail after the cancellation of their flight due to weather conditions.

Bilgen and Beştaş were once again referred to the airport today and they are being taken to Istanbul at the moment to be put in Silivri Prison.
