HDP pays visit to Deniz Poyraz's family

“We want peace and brotherhood. We do not want mothers to cry. Long live the brotherhood of peoples,” said father of HDP member Deniz Poyraz who was killed in the HDP headquarters in İzmir in June.

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Organization has visited the family of Deniz Poyraz who was killed in a racist attack in the party’s headquarters on June 17.

The party members visited the family of Deniz Poyraz on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. Poyraz’s Mother Fehime and father Abdullilah Poyraz welcomed the party members, who included HDP İzmir Deputy Serpil Kemalbay and provincial branch co-chair Besriye Tekgür.

'YOU CAN'T INTIMIDATE US WITH MASSACRES'

“Massacres and attacks do not intimidate people. On the contrary, they lead to cohesion, struggle and solidarity,” HDP's lawmaker Kemalbay said during the visit.

Mother Fehime Poyraz said that the visitors did not make her daughter’s absence felt. She thanked all those who did not leave them alone during the Eid.

“We want peace and brotherhood. We do not want mothers to cry. Long live the brotherhood of peoples,” father Abdullilah Poyraz said.
