HDP politician Sibel Yiğitalp held meetings in Florence municipality to talk about the international conspiracy that led to the abduction of Öcalan and the situation of political prisoners in Turkish jails.

The Kurdish delegation was in Florence on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the international conspiracy against Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, and asked the city council to condemn the isolation of Öcalan and to take action for political prisoners in Turkey. The delegation also asked Florence council to support the demonstrations to be held on 12 February in Rome and Milan.
The Mayor of Florence council said that the city is twinned with Kobanê Municipality, and added that they have been carrying out joint work with the Kurdish people since 2015, since the war against ISIS.
