HDP’s motion for inquiry into Ceylanpınar incident rejected by AKP votes

The motion for inquiry HDP made regarding the killing of two police officers in Urfa’s Ceylanpınar district on July 22, 2015 was rejected by AKP votes.

HDP’s motion for inquiry on the Ceylanpınar incident, which the government used as an excuse to end the process of talks with Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, was on the agenda today in the Parliament General Assembly.

HDP Urfa MP Osman Baydemir spoke on behalf of the party and said he believed the coup mechanism would be revealed if the killing of the two police officers was investigated.

Baydemir said: “A trap was set and it was carried out step by step. We see that we are facing a great conspiracy. There are two fundamental bases in this case: One of them is the informant. The informant himself has disappeared. His brother was arrested for the coup attempt. His other brother is wanted by the police. If we actually don’t want the clashes, deaths resulting from the clashes and the truth to be covered up, we need to bring this incident that sparked the clash to light.”

Baydemir also read Cemil Bayık’s statements that they weren’t the ones to carry out the incident at the stand.

After the speeches, the motion was rejected by AKP and MHP votes.
