HDP statement on 'Roboski attack'

HDP Group Deputy Chairpersons Pervin Buldan and İdris Baluken released a written statement on the state terror in Roboskî and emphasized AKP’s responsibility in the attacks.

HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Group Deputy Chairpersons Pervin Buldan and İdris Baluken released a written statement on the state terror in Roboski and emphasized AKP’s responsibility in the attacks.

Buldan and Baluken recalled the attacks on their people and party during the 13 years old AKP governance, and stated that these attacks reached their peak during the bombing of the HDP rally in Amed on June 5. HDP chairpersons stated that the AKP’s negligence and manipulation regarding the investigation on the bombing illustrates the Turkish state’s responsibility in the attack.

'SYSTEMATIC AND PLANNED'

Buldan and Baluken reminded the 2011 massacre of 34 villagers in Roboski by Turkish warplanes and said that that the state provokes, arrests, and attacks Roboski residents instead of claiming responsibility and apologizing for the 2011 massacre. Buldan and Baluken stated that yesterday’s attack on HDP Şırnak parliamentarian Ferhat Encü, who had lost his relatives during the massacre and was later elected into the parliament with 85 percent of the votes in Şırnak, was part of the state attacks on Kurdish people and HDP. Buldan and Baluken emphasized the role of AKP in this conflict and said that the attacks targeting Kurdish people and HDP were systematic and planned.

'MINISTER, GOVERNOR AND ADMINISTRATORS ARE THE ACTUAL PLANNERS'

In their statement, Buldan and Baluken condemned the recent attacks on Roboski villagers and said that the Ministry of Interior Affairs failed to respond to all efforts that were aiming to end the conflict peacefully. HDP spokespersons noted that they have been calling the Interior Minister, Şırnak Governor, and other state administrators but their phone calls were left unanswered, which exposes these officials as the actual planners of the massacre.

Buldan and Baluken demanded the immediate resignation of Interior Minister and Şırnak Governor, and called upon the Turkish state to end its hostile policies on Roboski.
