HDP to rally in Istanbul on Sunday

HDP candidates will meet people in Bakırköy, Istanbul.

Everything is set for Sunday’s HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) big rally in Istanbul.

“We are meeting for a life without exploitation, without war” is the slogan chosen for the rally that will take place at Bakırköy People's Market at 5pm on Sunday.

Half a million people are expected to attend the party’s election rally which happens at a time of particular tension, after the incidents in Suruç where AKP candidate’s armed relatives went on the rampage killing people for saying they wouldn’t vote for them.

HDP Istanbul Provincial co-chair, Esengül Demir, said that HDP presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş will be sending a message at the rally.

Demir confirmed that “the speech of Demirtaş will be broadcast live by TRT”.

HDP co-chair and deputy, Pervin Buldan, will be speaking at the rally together with Mardin Metropolitan Municipality co-chair, Ahmet Türk (who has been deprived of his charge by the government), and HDP Istanbul deputy candidates.
