The case against HDP Van Province Co-chair Yadisen Karabulak accusing her of “terrorist propaganda” for her “Likes” on a Facebook page has concluded. Karabulak and her lawyers attended the hearing held in the Van Heavy Penal Court No.2.

In a first in Turkey, the court issued a 15 month prison sentence for clicking “Like” on a Facebook post.

Karabulak’s lawyer Sevket Tuci voiced his protest and said: “This sentence was issued unjustly without the legal requirements of a crime.”
