HDP Youth Assembly called for solidarity with the hunger strike actions started in prisons in protest at the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan.
Political prisoners in Turkey started on November 27 indefinite-alternating hunger strike demanding that the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan be ended and he be allowed to meet his family and lawyers.
The Youth Assembly of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) shared a video message on social media calling for solidarity with the hunger strike in prisons which is on day 10.
The message of the HDP Youth Assembly called on everyone to “reclaim this honorable resistance” everywhere in the spirit of the Kemal Pir, Mehmet Hayri Durmuş and Mazlum Doğan, jailed PKK cadres who led the ‘Great Death Fast’ resistance in the notorious Diyarbakır Prison in July 1982.
“Their demands are our demands. Long live the prison resistance,” said the HDP Youth Assembly.
