KCDK-E's Koç on hunger strike for 47 days hospitalized - UPDATE

KCDK-E Co-chair Yüksel Koç whose health condition has deteriorated on the 47th day of hunger strike in Strasbourg, has been hospitalized.

14 Kurdish activists have been on hunger strike in the French city of Strasbourg for 47 days, demanding an end to the isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The health of KCDK-E Co-chair Yüksel Koç, one of the 14 activists joining the hunger strike campaign in Strasbourg, has deteriorated today and an ambulance was called. 

Dr. Fahrettin Gülşen who is following the health situation of the hunger strikers stated that Koç is experiencing overfatigue as well as pain in the chest and stomach.

Following an initial treatment by the ambulance staff, the Kurdish politician, aged 55, was taken to hospital upon the proposal of French doctors.

Koç has accepted to be hospitalized for an examination but refused to be given serum proposed as a measure by the medical team.
