According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), heavy explosions were heard at dawn in and around Damascus.
It was reported that the explosions took place in "pro-Iranian militias' ammunition depots", allied with the Damascus government. The warehouses in question are located in a mountainous area east of the capital.
The observatory said they did not know whether the explosions were caused by an air strike or a ground attack.
The official news agency of the Damascus government, SANA, stated that explosions were heard around the capital during the night, but did not give any details.
On Monday, Israeli warplanes bombed weapons depots and military points around Damascus, killing 2 pro-Iranian militia members and 4 Damascus soldiers. In the same attacks, 2 Damascus soldiers and 5 militia members were injured.
On July 19, air strikes were carried out on positions belonging to the Damascus army and pro-Iranian militia groups near Damascus, and 3 militia members were killed.
