The peace treaty signed between the government and FARC was refused in the referendum held in Colombia.
The treaty signed by Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and FARC leader Timoleon Jimenez last week was offered in a referendum yesterday. According to referendum results, 50,24% of voters didn’t approve the peace treaty.
The referendum outcome created a shock in parties in Colombia, while an announcement on how the country will proceed from this point hasn’t been made yet.
President Santos had spoken before the referendum and said they didn’t have a plan B to end the war.
