HPG (People's Defence Forces) Sinjar Command has released a statement giving information about clashes going on in the village of Dugure to the north of Sinjar since 26 September.

The HPG statement pointed out that clashes in the Dugure village are going on for four days since ISIS gangs attacked the guerrilla forces protecting the security corridor leading from Mount Sinjar region to Rojava, West Kurdistan, by means of which thousands of people were safely evacuated from Sinjar region when it was attacked by the gangs on 3 August.

HPG Sinjar Command reported that 45 members of ISIS gangs have been killed in the fourth day of heavy clashes at the scene.

HPG said a number of gang members were also killed in two separate sabotage actions carried out by guerrillas, adding that a total of 103 members of the gangs were killed in the last four days of clashes in the region.

The statement stressed that; “Our Yezidi people and all other peoples should know that HPG and YBŞ (Sinjar Resistance Units) will duly perform their duty to protect our people. We will remain loyal to the values of our Yezidi people who have suffered massacre, and our comrades who fell fighting, and step up the resistance until freedom is attained in Sinjar.”
