The remains of Şehmus Akyol (Serxwebûn Amed), one of the 3 HPG guerrillas who fell as a martyr as the result of an Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle attack in the Tiloran village of Yüksekova (Gever) in the province of Hakkari (Colemêrg) on 16 June, were received by his family upon the results of the DNA test.
The remains, taken from Hakkari State Hospital, were brought to Yeniköy Cemetery in Amed's Bağlar (Rêzan) district. The Akyol family and the executives of the MEBYA-DER, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party), Democratic Regions Party (DBP) attended the funeral.
After the religious obligations were fulfilled, Akyol's body was buried in the Yeniköy Cemetery, which was surrounded by police.
