Around 100 Kurdish politicians have denounced themselves to Bitlis Court yesterday within the scope of the campaign "I turn myself in" which has been organized to protest the wave of arrests carried out in the context of the so called Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) operation.
Following the presentations of petitions, nearly 100 politicians, included BDP Bitlis MP Hüsamettin Zenderlioðlu, BDP PM Member Emrullah Bingöl, Tatvan Mayor Abdullah Ok and BDP Provincial Chair Orhan Bezirganoðlu, made a press statement and publicly stated that, “We are members of the KCK, we want to be tried too.”
Speaking at the press release, BDP Bitlis MP Hüsamettin Zenderlioðlu underlined that “KCK” operations were conducted as a new approach to the government concept in 90’s. Zenderlioðlu remarked that the AKP government couldn’t talk about democracy while arresting the executives and members of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party).
“You cannot suppress us with arrests”, added Zenderlioðlu
