European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) and its constituents are organizing long marches along with the allies of the Kurdish people all over the world to condemn the International Conspiracy developed against the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in its 18th year and to demand freedom for Öcalan and status for Kurdistan.
As part of these protests, a two-day Long March organised by the Democratic Kurdish Society Center of Sweden (DEM-KURD) has started in Geneva today.
Hundreds carrying banners of Öcalan and flags of PKK, KCK, YPG ad YPJ have gathered in Jardin Anglais behind a banner reading 'Freedom for Öcalan, Status fur Kurdistan'. Leftist and socialist circles from Switzerland are also supporting the march. Slogans chanted by demonstrators resonate in the center of world diplomacy.
The first day of the Long March in Geneva will end with a rally in front of the United Nations this evening.
Participants of the march will pass out flyers depicting the isolation imposed upon Öcalan to the Swiss and international institutions and establishments throughout the route.
