In the Autonomous Republic of Adygea in Russian Federation, a hunger strike has been started by the Kurdish Cultural Community and Kurdish Women’s Organization (Beritan) demanding an end to the isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The action has been taken over by a second group today.

An executive of the Kurdish Cultural Community in Adygea, Xwedêda Ahmet spoke on the behalf of the new round of the hunger strikers and said: “The Kurdish people around the globe must speak up against the dirty policies of the Turkish state. We are all responsible for our leader. We must break the isolation on its 20st anniversary, and free our leader. Since we have not adequately acted to carry out this duty, we have not been successful to free our leader. Leyla Guven, Nasir Yagiz and Imam Şiş in the first place, we greet all the hunger strikers and we stand in solidarity with their campaign.”
