The indefinite alternating hunger strike launched in front of the EP with 250 participants in Strasbourg, France demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues on day 2 with 380 participants.

Participants come from the following cities and institutions: Rennes, Paris, Drancy, Cdy, Vilebel, Evry, Marseilles, Drafunia, Montelli, Area 78, Mopielle, Bordeaux in France, Baden Wuttenberg-Bavaria FCDK, North FCDK Berlin, Hamburg, Niedersachzen, Fed-Med NRW, Hessen FCDK Kawa, Saalanda in Germany, DKTM Switzerland, DKTM Belgium, DKTM Netherlands, Diaspora Shengal Council, Nav-Yek, PYD, Komav, CÎK and Tev-Cand.

The participants, mostly young, stood out with their great morale.

The activists accompanied mothers singing strans in Kurdish in groups and embarked on the buses chanting slogans. 250 hunger strikers travelled from Freiburg to Strasbourg and arrived at the European Parliament by 10:00 to continue their protest.

Hunermend Hozan Sexithan spoke in the name of the Preparation Committee and pointed to the significance of the protest, adding that they will continue until the isolation is broken.

EUROPEAN INSTITUTIONS CONDEMNED

Families of Strasbourg hunger strikers of 100 days Mustafa Sarikaya, Yuksel Koc, Ramazan Imir and Kerem Solhan and brother of Zehra Saglam who carried out a sacrifice action Metin Saglam attended the protest. The families condemned the CPT, ECHR, EP and other European institutions for ignoring their relatives who have been on a hunger strike for 100 days and called on allies to support the protest.

MARTYRS’ FAMILIES: UPHOLD THE STRUGGLE

Senge Kahraman spoke in the name of the martyrs’ families and said: “We must break through the enemy line with this flame we built around the leader and succeed, hand in hand. Nothing can be achieved without a price paid. We must defend our Leader. I ask all families to uphold the struggle.”

On the second day of the protest, a committee from the European Parliament will visit the grounds and meet with the preparation committee to bring a message from the EP. A later protest is scheduled to take place in front of the EP where a group of 50 persons will wear white shrouds to protest the deaths.
