On 27 November political prisoners in Turkish jails went on hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the ongoing violations in prisons. The action is being carried out by diffferent groups fasting for a number of days. The protest has entered its 19th day and is being carried out by the 4th group of prisoners.
The prisoners called on the public to raise their voice while families called for their demands to be met.
