Hunger strike in Strasbourg: Day 98

Despite the worsening of their health conditions, the activists reiterate their determination in continuing their action until isolation is lifted.

The hunger strike resistance carried out by 14 Kurdish activists in Strasbourg demanding the end of isolation against Öcalan began on 17 December 2018.

The 14 Kurdish activists have joined the hunger strike resistance led by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and have reached day 98 of their fast.

Despite the worsening of their health conditions, the activists reiterate their determination in continuing their action until isolation is lifted.

NAV-YEK representatives visited activists

On Saturday NAV-YEK executive Yılmaz Kaba from the Yazidi community in Germany was one of the visitors coming to see the activists.

Emphasizing that the Yazidis would not accept the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the representative of NAV-YEK underlined that the hunger strike resistance should be claimed by all people and thus be successful.

Family and friends visited hunger striker Ike

A group of relatives and friends of hunger striker and journalist Gülistan Ike came to see her and the other activists.

The health of the hunger strikers in Strasbourg is quickly deteriorating as confirmed by doctors on Friday and the 14 activists spent most of their day in bed.
