On September 12, the 40th anniversary of the military coup in Turkey, the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) launched a campaign titled "Stop Isolation, Fascism and Occupation - Time for Freedom". Forces against the AKP/MHP regime are meant to be united in the common struggle. Worldwide many people take part in the campaign and actions are taking place in many places. The student associations JXK (Women Students from Kurdistan) and YXK (Association of Students from Kurdistan) were active today in Vienna and Mannheim.

The action in Vienna was staged at the Bundesländerplatz under the slogan "Ideas cannot be imprisoned - freedom for Abdullah Öcalan". The activists set up a stand with Öcalan’s books and distributed information material. Then they sat around the stand and read together individual chapters from the books of the Kurdish leader.
