Ike: We are ready to pay any price to end isolation

Kurdish hunger strike campaign demanding an end to the aggravated isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues with resolve.

Gülistan Ike, one of the hunger strikers in Strasbourg went live on Sterk-TV to confirm that the situation of most of the hunger strikers, especially Leyla Güven and Nasır Yağız, is critical.

Ike, herself a journalist, said that the hunger strikers in Strasbourg were also getting worse, as proved by the hospitalisation of European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress (KCDK-E) Co-chair Yüksel Koç.

Call on public and politicians

Koç was taken to the hospital, said Ike who confirmed that he is refusing any kind of medicine or treatment.

Ike reiterated the message that the resistance against the isolation regime imposed on Abdullah Öcalan, which has spread all over the world, will continue and underlined the importance of Kurdish politicians, revolutionaries and the efforts of the people.

Ike pointed out the importance of continuing strong political and diplomatic efforts to break isolation.

Meetings with CPT and other institutions

Ike said initiatives towards the CPT and other responsible institutions (Council of Europe) are continuing in order to force these institutions to take responsibility and act.

Gülistan Ike touched upon the seriousness of KCDK-E Co-Chair Yüksel Koç's state of health. “We believe that we will achieve victory if we pay heavy prices.”

“We are ready to pay whatever price”

Emphasizing the fact that more dangerous health problems may arise in activists in the coming days, Ike reminded that Leyla Guven, in Amed, and Nasir Yagiz in Hewler are at a critical stage.

"We are ready to pay any price” she said.

“Of course it is essential that the Kurds in Europe intensify their efforts - said Ike - to achieve the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan”.

Ike ended her remarks by calling once again on the Kurdish people to increase their actions to ensure isolation against Öcalan is ended.
