Cenap Ilboga had gone to Tendürek Mountain on 11 April to prepare the activity to plant trees in together with former Diyadin HDP branch chair, Cezmi Budak, and was wounded when Turkish soldiers opened fire. Ilboga was in hospital for a month and was released today. However he was immediately arrested by police officers who were keeping guard on him in the hospital. Ilboga left the hospital building on crutches and with the help of two relatives as he was having difficulty in walking.
Ilboğa was taken to the Erzurum Courthouse, where he will make his statement to the Diyadin prosecutor via a teleconference system. Hearing that Ilboga was being taken to the courthouse, HDP and DBP executives as well as representatives from IHD came to the building. Ilboğa is expected to make his statement in the afternoon.
In clashes that broke out in result of the ambush set up by the Turkish soldiers in Diyadin on 11 April, former HDP Diyadin branch chair Cezmi Budak and HPG guerrillas Serhat Kızılay (Canfeda Serhat) and Yıldırım Mat (Delil Dozwan) lost their lives when troops opened fire.
