Karlsruhe Federal General Prosecutor Peter Frank spoke to the Tagesspiegel newspaper and stated that the new preparatory investigations launched this year has surpassed 600. Frank said the number could reach 900 by the end of the year.
Frank said there were only 70 investigations in 2013, and pointed to the increase in the investigations against radical Islamists.
