Kurdistan Regional Government representative Nazim Omer Dabagh in a phone call with the PUK central media office stated that the Islamic Republic of Iraq has expressed its readiness to stop bombing the border areas of Kurdistan Region on Wednesday June 9, 2010.

PUK central media office said last night that an agreement has been reached with the Islamic Republic of Iran whose military forces have been shelling Kurdish region border areas.

Following continual efforts, says PUK media office, and meetings with the top political and military officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran, Iran has agreed to put an end to shelling Kurdistan Region border areas.
