The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the United Nations Security Council in order for the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraqi territory.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the United Nations Security Council in order for the withdrawal of Turkish troops whom it described as an occupant force on Iraqi territory. The appeal was presented to the UN Security Council by Iraq's Permanent Representative to the UN, Mohammed Ali Al Hakim.

A statement by the Ministry highlighted their demand for an urgent and unconditional withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraqi land, describing it as an intervention on the internal affairs of Iraq.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested an emergency meeting by the United Nations Security Council to discuss the presence of Turkish troops on its territory.

Two days ago, the Iraqi parliament voted unanimously for a seven-point decision for the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraqi land after Turkey's parliament extended a cross-border mandate for Iraq and Syria.
