Iraqi Prime Minister Abadi loses strength

Six MPs have resigned from the Nasir Coalition led by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi.

The winds have turned for Haider Al-Abadi, who was seen as the most likely candidate for the office of Prime Minister in the new government efforts following the May 12 elections. More and more are speaking up against Abadi’s Prime Ministry.

Six MPs resigned from the Nasir Coalition led by Abadi, and the MPs Ihsan Suban Shibli, Ala Suker Delfi, Yusuf Kelabi, Huseyin Macid Fayiz, Sevre Cevad Hifli and Riyaz Abbas Temimi announced that they will be forming a new structure soon.

Another group of MPs led by Falih Feyyaz, who was removed from the office of national security advisor by Abadi for supporting the Hashd al-Shaabi, had recently resigned from the Nasir Coalition to form the Ata group.
