ISIS attacks Syrian troops, killing 10 soldiers

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), 10 soldiers died in the attacks of ISIS mercenaries against the Damascus military forces in the Raqqa region.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a statement that ISIS mercenaries attacked the points held by the Damascus forces on Monday, setting military vehicles and prefabs on fire.

The statement claimed that 10 soldiers were killed and 6 were injured, some of them heavily.

Damascus forces control the eastern and southern sectors of the Raqqa region, while most of the north is under the Autonomous Administration's control.

Raqqa, which ISIS mercenaries had proclaimed and controlled the "capital of the caliphate" for years, was liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in 2017.

On Sunday, according to SOHR, 6 other soldiers were killed in other attacks targeting Damascus forces in the north-west of the country.
