Isolation of Öcalan condemned in Toulouse

The activity events and demonstrations in protest of the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan by the Turkish state continue.

In French city Toulouse a rally and an ensuing demonstration took place demanding the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Demonstrators gathered at 17:30 at the Capitole Square where they commenced their march following a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs of the revolution of Kurdistan and the world.

After the march in the city centre, the protesters reached once again the Capitole Square where they gathered for a demonstration, chanting slogans like "Freedom for Öcalan", "Political solution for Kurdistan" and "Long live Leader Apo".

Speaking on behalf of the Kurdish Democratic Society Centre (NCDK) in Toulouse, Ali Ataç held a speech, saying: "Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, whose paradigm and philosophy will enlighten the entire Middle East, is being held in an aggravated isolation for 18 years now. We shall not approve of this situation."

Ataç stressed that the Kurdish people can no longer contain itself in face of this situation. Following the statement, fliers and leaflets prepared by the Democratic Kurdish Society in France (CDK-F) were read out loud.

In those leaflets the European Union and all its member states were called upon to not remain silent in view of the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader.

The protest event ended with the chant "There is no life without Leader Apo".
