According to the official Syrian news agency Sana, Israel targeted Quneitra, in the Golan Heights, with surface-to-surface missiles.
It was reported that the attack took place towards 00:30 local time. A military source told Sana that material damage was caused as a result of the attack. No other details were given.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also said that after the Israeli attack on military positions, explosions took place in the city of Quneitra.
Israel is bombing Syria for the third time since the beginning of February. On 17 February, a military point affiliated to the Damascus government in the city of Zakiya, south of Damascus, was attacked and on 9 February, Syrian anti-aircraft batteries were targeted.
Since the civil war that started in 2011, Israel has targeted Damascus government forces, Hezbollah and Iranian forces hundreds of times on Syrian territory.
