Israeli aistrike hits Aleppo airport

Aleppo airport was hit by an Israeli airstrike and went out of service in the early hours of the morning.

According to the Sana news agency, affiliated with the Damascus government, an early morning airstrike by Israel damaged the international airport of Aleppo, which went out of service.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli planes targeted both the airport and a nearby weapons depot said to belong to Iranian militias.

Official sources did not reveal whether there were any casualties or injuries in the airstrike.

Israel had already carried out an attack on the Aleppo airport back in March. Three people died in this attack and the airport went out of service.

According to the data of the Ministry of Transport, more than 80 planes loaded with humanitarian aid have landed at Aleppo airport since the earthquake that hit Kurdistan, Turkey and Syria on 6 February in which nearly 6,000 people died.

In recent years, the Israeli state has escalated its attacks on the Damascus government forces, Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah forces in Syria. Hundreds of attacks have been carried out by Israel since the beginning of the Syrian war in 2011.
