During a visit to Private Esayan Armenian High School, Istanbul governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu answered journalists’ questions about yesterday’s Newroz meetings. Governor Mutlu stated that 135 people were taken into custody and claimed that BDP executive Hacý Zengin who lost his life during the events yesterday died because of his chronic disease asthma.

Mutlu claimed that the initial examinations on Zengin’s body didn’t reveal any indications confirming that Zengin was hit by any kind of material.

Mutlu denied the allegations which said that Zengin had been affected from gas bomb or died because of something that hit him on the head.

The exact reason of Zengin’s death will be determined after the completion of the examination by Forensic Medicine Institute, added Mutlu.
