Izmir earthquake leaves 114 dead, 1,035 injured
The search and rescue efforts for the victims of the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Izmir Seferihisar have ended. 114 people died in the earthquake, 1,035 people were injured.
The number of people who lost their lives in the earthquake with epicenter in Seferihisar in Izmir, rose to 114.
As the 5th day of the search and rescue efforts ended, 1,713 aftershocks were recorded.
114 people lost their lives in the earthquake, 1,035 people were injured, 898 of the injured were discharged, while 137 people remain in hospital.
The search and rescue efforts ended late last night after the removal of the dead body of dentist Zarife Doğan, who was buried under the rubble in the Rıza Bey Apartment. Debris are removed by construction equipment.
