Jinen Tîrejen Roje sets fire to vehicles, workplaces in protest of isolation

The Jinen Tîrejen Roje Initiative set fire to vehicles and workplaces belonging to fascists to protest the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan.

The Jinen Tîrejen Roje Initiative organized actions to protest the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in the Imrali Island High Security Prison.

In a written statement detailing the actions, the Jinen Tîrejen Roje Initiative said: “No news has been received from Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan for more than 21 months. Applications to meet Öcalan are rejected with arbitrary obstructions. The ever-present isolation practices in prisons are getting heavier and stricter every day. Sick prisoners who have reports stating that they cannot stay behind bars are illegally kept in jail. A policy of torture and genocide, unprecedented in history, is imposed on thousands of revolutionaries in prisons.”

The statement continued, “Öcalan, who represents the will of millions, is the only power to bring democracy and freedom to the peoples of the Middle East and Turkey. We will continue our actions without interruption until these arbitrary and inhuman practices come to an end, and Öcalan’s freedom is achieved. As the isolation gets heavier, our actions will increase in equal measure.”
