Kartal: General election in Turkey will determine future of the peoples

A solidarity rally with the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) has been organised in Eindhoven with the participation of KONGRA-GEL co-chair Remzi Kartal, Eindhoven People’s Assembly co-chair Hacı Arslan and journalist Halil Dalkılıç.

Speaking at the meeting, KONGRA-GEL co-chair Remzi Kartal said the only party that could stop the AKP in Turkey is the HDP and they expect votes from all segments of society for the HDP. Kartal drew attention to the pluralist structure of the HDP, drawing in for the first time in Turkey people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, Kurds, Turks, Alevis and Sunnis for a democratic Turkey, adding that the upcoming general election in June will determine the future of all the peoples of the country. Kartal called on all democratic people living in Europe to vote for the HDP.

Journalist Dalkılıç stressed in his speech that the Kurdish Liberation Movement is the only one defending the freedom and independence of the peoples of the Middle East in the current chaotic situation, adding that in the cantons of Rojava decisions are taken from below with the participation of the people ensuring their freedom of expression. Dalkılıç said the same self-government of people can be ensured by the HDP project in Turkey and added that all the communities, primarily the Alevis who are historically ostracised in Turkey, can become part of a society built on consent by coming together around the HDP. Dalkılıç said a new politics will be developed in Turkey at the 7 June elections.
