Since 8 May Kurds and Turks who are Turkish citizens have been voting in European countries. The Kurdish Democratic Society Congress in Europe (KCD-E) Co-chair Murat Ceylan has issued an appeal to people living in Europe to vote for the HDP before the final day of voting on 31 May.
Ceylan said that in the last 3 months the commissions they have set up have reached 350,000 people, but that the numbers of people going to vote was still low. “People should not leave it to the last minute,” he said. “Every vote counts and is a challenge to the fascist idea that hoped Kobanê would fall. Every vote expresses solidarity with the YPG/YPJ resistance in Rojava. Our people should thus vote for the HDP to strengthen democracy,” he added.
