KCDK-E called on everyone to join the sit-it action organised from 25 to 29 March in front of the European Parliament (Rue Lucien Febvre, 67000 Strasbourg).
KCDK-E co-presidency council issued a written statement to confirm that the hunger strike resistance will be growing from “25 to 29 March” with actions in front of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.
Indicating that the hunger strike resistance against isolation led by Leyla Güven has turned into a worldwide resistance, the KCDK-E said: “Prisons have reached a critical stage in Strasbourg, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Canada. The hunger strike resistance has had a worldwide impact.”
The KCDK-E statement added: “In many countries of the world, political parties, politicians, intellectuals, humanist groups and personalities, peoples have declared their support to the hunger strikers and their resistance. Even though European governments are silent despite this rising solidarity, they do not pave the way for a solution by insisting on their two-sided attitude.”
This attitude of the European states, said the KCDK-E “is one of three monkeys and it is an obstacle to the achievement of the goal of the hunger strike resistance. This is why the CPT, an organ of the Council of Europe, is silent and does not take action. This attitude gives courage to the Turkish state's dictator Erdogan and his alliance.
The Council of Europe and the CPT are partners in crime. The attitude of these institutions contributes to the isolation of Öcalan. This attitude against the justified, legal and humanitarian demands of the hunger strike activists contributes to the destruction of the Kurdish people as a whole. The aim of this resistance is to end isolation.”
First stage ended
The KCDK-E added: “We have entered the stage of urgent action to get a solution in order to avoid any further death. The hunger strike is the only method of struggle of the political prisoners.”
The statement ended with the following call: “We call everyone to join the sit-it action organised from 25 to 29 March in front of the European Parliament (Rue Lucien Febvre, 67000 Strasbourg).
Likewise we urge everyone to join the sit- in in front of the Council of Europe to put pressure on it to take actions.”
