A central demonstration against the Turkish war of aggression and KDP betrayal in Kurdistan will take place in Düsseldorf on Saturday, April 30. Activists have mobilized in the entire federal territory as well as in Belgium and the Netherlands for the demonstration which will begin at 12 noon in front of the DGB building.
The demonstration is promoted by Defend Kurdistan, Kon-Med (Confederation of Communities of Kurdistan in Germany), YJK-E (Association of Women from Kurdistan in Germany), Women Defend Rojava, RiseUp4Rojava, Interventionist Left, Ende Gelände, AZADÎ and Fighting Together for Self-Determination and Democratic Autonomy.
The European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) urged all Kurdish people to participate in the demonstration, saying the following in a written statement released on Thursday:
“The latest attack launched by the invading Turkish army on the Medya Defense Zones in cooperation with the KDP is targeting all parts of Kurdistan.
This aggression on the land and the existence of the Kurdish people poses great dangers. The aim of the invasion attack is to break the will of the Kurdish people and eliminate their gains. Coordinated and simultaneous attacks against Şengal, Rojava and South Kurdistan are part of a full-scale invasion. It is seen that the support of the treacherous collaborative forces and the approval of the international powers have already been received for the success of the invasion plan.
However, the Kurdish people have the power to overcome this critical period of the freedom struggle that has lasted for more than 40 years in a spirit of united struggle and national unity. It is an undeniable fact that the target of this genocidal attack is not only the guerrilla forces, but the will of the Kurdish people as a whole, as well as their march to freedom and their achievements. After the AKP-MHP fascist government’s war concept was frustrated in 2021 by the resistance of the guerrillas and the people of Kurdistan, the Turkish state, which is currently facing a serious crisis and deadlock, seeks to get results in cooperation with the KDP in 2022.
In a common spirit and resistance against the invasion and massacres of the Turkish state, the policies of the invaders and collaborators will be protested on Saturday, April 30 in a march in Germany organized by more than 40 European Kurdish institutions and parties under the motto 'Li dijî Dagirkeriya devata Tirk Kurdistanê biparêze'. These invasion attacks and massacres can only be frustrated through total resistance. It is a historical and national duty for all Kurdish parties and institutions to expand the resistance in a common spirit everywhere.
As KCDK-E, we urge all Kurdish institutions, parties, intellectuals and our people to participate in the march in Düsseldorf on April 30 to defy the invasion attacks of the colonial Turkish state and its collaborators and to embrace the resistance of the guerrillas who are fighting to protect the future of the entire Kurdish people. The day is the day to protect our honour, land and gains.”
