KCDK-E: Take to the streets for freedom for Öcalan on October 10

KCDK-E announced the schedule of 10 October World Freedom Day protests and called for strong participation, saying: "The solution can be realized through Öcalan's freedom".

The European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress (KCDK-E) Co-Presidency Council issued a written statement on the occasion of "October 10, Global Freedom for Öcalan Day" and announced the schedule of actions.

'ÖCALAN'S FREEDOM IS PEACE AND DEMOCRACY’

The statement by KCDK-E includes the following: "The racist fascist AKP-MHP government, which is trying to consolidate its rule and life, is targeting everyone who opposes it with all its militarist forces. It strives to maintain its fascist rule by arresting, threatening and blackmailing HDP MPs, municipal co-mayors, activists, women, democrats and intellectuals who were elected by millions of votes.

The fascist alliance of the AKP-MHP, which is experiencing a deep crisis, is in a complete deadlock in economic, political and other fields. For this reason, it resorts to more violence and continues to impose isolation on leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] by intensifying it. It is struggling to maintain the fascist rule through violence inside and war abroad.

It is conducting a war against all the values of the people living in the Middle East and the Kurds in the person of Leader Apo. Dictator Erdogan dreams of keeping himself in power through genocidal politics and deepening the conflict between peoples.

The isolation imposed upon Leader Apo actually means a war against democratic rights and freedoms, against the future in which people wish to maintain their common life. For this reason, Leader Apo's freedom means democracy, freedom and the guarantee of social peace.

Everyone who promotes democracy in Turkey, in the Middle East and in the world is required to jointly fight against isolation imposed on Öcalan. Solution of the Kurdish issue and Turkey's democratization can be achieved through Leader Öcalan playing his role freely.

'WE CALL EVERYONE TO ACTION'

The October 10 action will also be a campaign for freedom for Leader Apo against the October 9 conspiracy. In this respect, if the October 10 protests are widespread, creative and comprehensive, they will make a worldwide impact and renew the demand for Leader Apo's freedom everywhere.”

KCDK-E called on the people of Kurdistan, as well as intellectuals, artists, ecologists, women's rights advocates, and everyone who is in favor of freedom and equality to participate in different and creative activities.
