KCK: Torture in Imralý reached unbearable point

KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) Presidency Council has released a statement about the “isolation punishment under isolation” of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and called on all Kurdish people to “step up their protest activity”.

With a strong reaction to the most recent solitary confinement imposed on Kurdish leader Öcalan, the KCK statement  said that; “The Imralý torture system has gone beyond the limits of toleration”.

The KCK statement added that “The AKP government is increasing its attacks on the Kurdish people, their leader and guerrilla forces by deciding on slaughter, massacre and extortion instead of peaceful and democratic ways. This wave of attack which is run  in company with an intense psychological warfare under the leadership of AKP ministers has come to a head with the most recent Roboski slaughter, the solitary confinement and the visit ban imposed on leader Öcalan. In addition, the efforts given to find a legal cover for the aggravated unlawful isolation of Öcalan have brought the situation to an intolerable point.”
