KJK's Ayten: Silence means betrayal of the hunger strikers

KJK Executive Member Ayten Amed said: “Silence means the betrayal of 7,000 people on hunger strike. Everyone should do their best to oppose the AKP-MHP fascism. This is the only way out.”

KJK Executive Member Ayten Amed saluted the women-led hunger strike on behalf of the Women's Freedom Movement. She said these actions were in line and continuity with the PKK and its history, adding: “This resistance is identical to the history of the PKK. When we look at the history of the PKK, someone has emerged to lead in the most critical processes. Just as Kemal Pir, who resisted against fascism in the prison in Amed, and Hayri Durmuş and his friends reached freedom with their actions, a struggle against AKP-MHP fascism started under the leadership of Leyla Güven. At the same time, such a far-reaching action in which 7,000 people have one will is a first in history.”

Erdoğan has lost

The AKP-MHP fascist power has lost the 31 March elections, and has lost in the post-election protest in Amed, said Ayten. “The AKP-MHP has lost the elections. Let's not forget the fact that the success of this depends on the actions. Despite the fact that millions of people say ‘no’ to the state, the AKP government, which still wants to maintain its power, continued to employ its dirty politics with post-election objections. Erdoğan, who stated that he would succeed in the elections in the Kurdistan areas was mistaken. The AKP has been ahead of the elections by militarizing our strategic areas, this is not a success.”

KJK's Ayten continued: “Mothers should be given support to the actions they launch. Turkey has a patriotic need to recover from this critical situation. I do not mean patriotic only for the Kurdish people, I mean it for all peoples of Turkey. And we can do this by supporting the hunger strikes. To remain silence while 7 thousand people are starving themselves to death is a betrayal. Everyone should do their best to oppose the AKP-MHP fascism. This is the only way out.”
