KNK condemn arrests in Paris

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) based in Brussels condemns the attacks against Kurdish associations by French police. The KNK stated that, “French authority’s conspiracy against Kurdish association encourages Turkish regime to oppress Kurdish people. This attitude of democrat European country does not help democracy and long last standing Kurdish question.”

“With the Turkish election scheduled a few days later, French police attack is suspicious to the Kurdish people,” the KNK statement said.

“French authority sacrifices Kurdish people for the sake of political and economical advantage with Turkish state,” the statement added

Kurdish people struggle for their very basic human rights through the use of democratic means. French police viciously attacked Kurdish association in France.

“French authority’s conspiracy against Kurdish people creates obstacles to Kurdish question. We urge the French government to release all arrestees and support Kurdish cause in democratic means,” the statement read.

The KNK called upon International community to condemn the act of French authority and Turkish regime and support the Kurdish question in Middle East.

On 4 June French police had conducted simultaneous raids at the headquarters of two Kurdish associations in Villiers-le-Bel and Evry, Ile de France, arresting at least six people including a prominent Kurdish politician. Five others were injured during violent clashes with police.

The officers arrested and handcuffed 4 Kurds as the result of the raid in Villiers-le-Bel. At least thirty other Kurds, including children and women were locked inside the building during the operation.

Among those arrested was Nedim Seven, a Kurdish activist known in the Kurdish European diaspora, Bülent Atmaca, Rahmi Arýcand and a woman, Gülay Aydemir.
