As the epic and historic resistance by YPG/YPJ forces against the attacks of ISIS gangs on Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, is continuing, the true face of the war is once again exhibited by the difficulties being faced by the people displaced and forced to migrate due to the ongoing attacks.
Among the Kobanê citizens who came to Urfa following the most recent attacks, some are yet to receive news from the other members of their families.
Members of the Hemo family were able to reach each other 25 days after they arrived in Suruç district of Urfa.
Mihemed Hemo who brought his wife and children to the Suruç side of the border as ISIS attacks intensified one month ago turned back to his hometown to defend it against the gangs. Hemo later lost the trace of his wife and twins, Arin and Amira. Coming back to Suruç after staying in Kobanê for a while, Hemo was able to reach his family only thanks to the efforts of their relatives in the district.
Hemo's wife Ruken Xelil told that she had been able to find a safe place near her relatives where she has been staying for the last one month, adding that she however had no opportunity to inform her husband about the situation.
The family who have been sheltered in the tent city set up by Suruç Municipality want nothing more than to turn back home once is liberated.
Another member of the Hemo family, Hamide Ahmed, said they had been asked to cross to the other side of the border as they weren't able to receive military training when ISIS launched mortar and missile attacks on Kobanê.
