KON-MED said: "We are waiting for lawyers to go to Imralı as soon as possible and make a statement to address the concern caused by the fire."

The statement added: "It should be ensured that Öcalan and the other prisoners are allowed access to their lawyers and families. They should be transported to a safer place as soon as possible. A satisfying explanation will only be possible after such a meeting."
