KON-MED calls to rise up against invasion on June 8

Kurdistan Societies Confederation Germany (KON-MED) called for participation to the march to be held in Cologne on June 8 against the Turkish state invasions in Afrin and elsewhere in Kurdistan.

A march will be held in Cologne on June 8 to protest the Turkish state’s occupation of Afrin, the wall of shame they constructed around the city and their latest invasion operation against Southern Kurdistan. The march will begin at 11.00 from the Ebert Platz.

Fed Med-NRW (Mesopotamia Free Society Federation), the Afrin Platform (PYD, Maras Initiative, Middle Anatolia Kurds Platform-PKAN), Dersim Reconstruction Congress, Southern and Eastern Kurdistan Representatives, Mesopotamian Faiths Union (FEDA, NAV-YEK, CIK), Kurdish Women’s Union Germany (YJK-E), Revolutionary Youth Movement and Fed Med NRW Federation Councils are leading the march organized under the motto, “Seri Hilde (Rise Up)”.

In a written statement KON-MED said, “The invading Turkish state continues their policies of pillaging, violence and forced migrations that they employed for a long time in Bakur and are now implementing in the occupation of Afrin more openly and violently in Bashur and all of Kurdistan.”

KON-MED stated that against the Turkish state’s expansionist-invading policies, the Kurdish people and all peoples of the Middle East are under threat and added: “This occupation that has gone on for a long time brings about a threat of a great massacre for all peoples.”

KON-MED said Kurds should not accept the occupation and stand up against it, and called on all to attend the march in Germany with a spirit of mobilization.
