The KONGRA-GEL Co-Presidency Council released a statement about Sunday’s attack in Istanbul, which killed six civilians and injured 81 others. While the Turkish Interior Minister was quick to blame the PKK, PYD and YPG for the attack, all the accused organisations have independently condemned the attack and denied responsibility.

In a written statement on Tuesday, the KONGRA-GEL Co-Presidency Council said that “shedding light on the Taksim massacre will pave the way for the exposure of the other massacres committed by the AKP-MHP government.”

The statement of KONGRA-GEL includes the following:

“We strongly condemn the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in Taksim, Istanbul on November 13. It is obvious that the Taksim massacre was part of the special war concept of the AKP-MHP government. This massacre is a continuation of the mass killings carried out by ISIS in Ankara, Suruç, Diyarbakır, Antep, Mersin and other places in the past.

The Turkish employment of chemical weapons against the freedom guerrilla has caused a significant public backlash.

The AKP-MHP government, which is experiencing a stalemate in its dirty war, is resorting to all kinds of irrational acts. Lately exposed images show how the corpses of Turkish soldiers who died in the war were burnt by the Turkish army itself.

All this shows the extent of the atrocities of the AKP-MHP fascist government and the deadlock its army is experiencing during the dirty war.

The attack in Taksim is part of a special war to overcome the deadlock experienced by the AKP-MHP government, to divert public opinion from the use of chemical weapons and the burning of soldiers’ corpses, to remove the positive image of the women's freedom struggle led by the Kurdish women under the slogan ‘Jin-Jiyan-Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) and to justify further attacks against Rojava.

The AKP-MHP fascism is an enemy of humanity, a tyrannical mentality. It promotes immoral, unscrupulous, bloody policies that regard anything as permissible in order to achieve its goal and can easily murder its own citizens and civilians.

Erdoğan and Bahçeli are the perpetrators of the attack. They can do anything in order not to lose power in any case. The Taksim incident proves that the AKP-MHP government continues to rule through war and blood.

The peoples of Turkey, all forces of democracy, anyone who has suffered from oppression and injustice must mobilize to get rid of the AKP-MHP fascism. Everyone should do their part to reveal the truth concerning the Taksim massacre. Disclosure of the Taksim massacre will pave the way for the disclosure of other massacres committed by the AKP-MHP government.

We condemn the Taksim massacre once again and offer our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wish the injured a quick recovery.”
