Kurdish singer Deniz Deman who was detained yesterday, has been released.

Deman was taken into custody at Khabor border gate while on the way back from South Kurdistan where she attended a program.

After detention at the border gate at around 3 am at night, Deman was referred to Silopi Courthouse four hours later.

The Kurdish artist was released after bearing testimony in the scope of a lawsuit brought against her for allegedly spreading propaganda for an illegal organization with a song she sang at Newroz celebration in Bulanık district of Muş this year.
